My name is LaSheta Skinner, and I am a professional Dance Choreographer, Educator, Coach, and Director in the Dallas Metroplex. I have a very diverse background, starting in the performing arts as a dancer, teacher, advocate, and director. I have trained in various dance styles, including Contemporary, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Breakdancing, Modern, and more. I was a member of my high school drill team, where I served in two leadership positions, as Spirit Leader and Senior Lieutenant Colonel. Upon graduating from high school, I was awarded a scholarship and a spot on the Trinity Valley Community College Cardette Dance Team. In addition to being a member, I served as a Freshman Representative and a Lieutenant from 2012 to 2014. I was also fortunate to be a member of their Showgirls competition team from 2013-2014. We also did a London performance tour in 2014! It was such an amazing experience, both as a performer and as a leader.
I have always strived for leadership positions in my extracurricular activities and organizations. I hold two degrees: an Associate's in Kinesiology and a Bachelor's in Creative Advertising. I am also actively pursuing my Master of Science in Applied Nutrition. I hold two certifications as a Sports Nutrition Coach and Stretch & Flexibility Coach. Currently, you can find me at Conrad High School, where I am the Head of the Dance Department and Director of the Varsity Drill Team and Show Style Team.
